Zoo

For the fourth of July weekend we had planned on visiting Shawn and his family, but due to the storms and tornadoes that ripped through the state Jake had to work the whole weekend restoring power. We were very bummed, but tried to keep ourselves busy. Saturday we visited the Bramble Zoo in Watertown. I've decided kids really don't care for zoos... the only part Myah really liked was the petting zoo and the aquarium they had. Otherwise all she wanted to do was go to the park located outside of the zoo! They did have awesome hotdogs though!

On Sunday we loaded up a cooler with drinks and treats and drove down to Lake Benton to watch Jake and the guys work. They were thankful for the cool beverages and short break. I could tell Myah felt a little better about her Daddy being gone at work so much when she got to see what he was doing. She could have sat and watched him all day. We are very proud of him and all the other lineman (including Uncle Shawn, Uncle Ben and Papa Joe) who worked so many hours in the hot sun getting everyones electricity back on.

We also did some swimming and a lot of playing at the park, having picnics and going for walks. Here is our weekend...

Our little penguin!

Finally... the park outside!

Eating carrots on the porch.

Jake made it home around 7:30pm on the 4th, so we had a few fireworks. He was pretty exhausted though.
